West Field 3rd grade teacher Paige Ketch AND Special Education teacher Jill Wilburn were nominated for BELONGING. Together, they have collaborated to develop creative ways to ensure their students always feel a sense of belonging. Both of these teachers work tirelessly each day to ensure all of their students have a voice.
EPSAC Accountant Debbie Smith was nominated for BELONGING. As her nominator said, " Debbie goes out of her way to make sure everyone feels like they belong. She wants to make sure everyone is included and nobody ever feels left out. As a person new to EPS, she has gone out of her way to introduce anyone who stops by her office to me (office across the hall) to make sure I meet new faces and feel included. I see her go out of her way to include people every day."
Memorial Sign Language Interpreter Lisa Scott was nominated for BELONGING. Mrs. Scott constantly strives to make all the students find a comfortable place to belong - even if it’s in the class period she is in. She interprets more than just spoken and signed languages. She helps explain things that seem obvious in a way that doesn’t make others feel less than. She connects students together in a way that builds friendships and removes barriers. She is consistently providing access where she sees blockades.
